Complete measurement shaft service

Measurement shaft application from component to calibrated solution

AXON turns your shaft into a ready-to-use measurement shaft with strain gauge application, robust telemetry, mechanical integration, calibration and documentation. The goal is a measurement solution that works in the real application – not only on paper.

Custom fit for installation space and load case

Sensor application, telemetry and calibration from one source

Compact integration in tight spaces

For drive shafts, prop shafts, flanges and gearbox parts

Challenge

A measurement shaft is built from aligned application, telemetry and calibration

For a shaft to become a measurement shaft, gauge position, protection, telemetry, power transfer, antenna placement and calibration must fit together. Mistakes at any step propagate through the entire measurement chain.

In vehicles and on the test bench, limited space, high temperatures, vibration, oil, water and electromagnetic interference add further constraints.

  • × Mechanical integration
  • × Stable power supply
  • × Interference-resistant data transfer
  • × Calibration and documentation

AXON approach

A complete solution from one source

The starting point is the real installation situation: CAD data, space, load case, temperature and interfaces. AXON then handles strain gauge application, rotor unit integration, inductive power supply, data transmission and final calibration.

Depending on the measurement task, torque, force, strain and temperature can be acquired with matching AXON telemetry systems.

  • Design from CAD or part
  • Gauge application with protection
  • AXON rotor and control unit integration
  • Calibration and documentation

Application proof

What a reliable measurement solution really stands on

Installation

Compact for real spaces

Telemetry and gauge application are designed around installation space, load case and speed so the build has minimal impact on the shaft’s dynamic behavior.

Environment

Robust under real loads

Oil, water, vibration, temperature and EMI are addressed systematically in protection and telemetry – from layered sealing to interference-resistant data transfer.

Interface

Ready to connect

Analog or CAN-bus output, calibrated scaling, documentation for bench and vehicle.

From shaft to measurement shaft

A good measurement shaft is defined by the fit between gauge position, protection, telemetry, power transfer, antenna placement and calibration.

The starting point is CAD data or the component itself. AXON then handles strain gauge application, rotor unit integration, layered sealing plus calibration and validation on the test bench.

For tight, hot and dynamic spaces

Vehicle and test-bench measurement shafts face limited space, high temperatures, vibration, oil, water and electromagnetic interference.

Compact AXON telemetry systems are designed for these conditions.

  • Drive shafts
  • Prop shafts
  • Measurement flanges
  • Rotating gearbox parts

Process

From measurement goal to ready-to-use solution

1. Analyze installation

CAD data or component, installation space, load case, speed, temperature, media contact and interfaces are reviewed.

2. Define measurement concept

Gauge position, telemetry, antennas, protection and outputs are specified.

3. Apply measurement shaft

AXON applies the strain gauges, integrates the rotor unit and protects the build with application-specific layered sealing.

4. Deliver calibrated

The measurement shaft is tested, calibrated, validated and documented for use.
